Entry requirements


It is your sole responsibility to ensure that you - and any child travelling with you - have all the travel documents necessary to enter in, or transit through, each country on your itinerary. Please ensure you verify the requirements for each country as the required documents for the outbound portion of your travel may differ from those required on the return.

Airport check in

It is recommended that you present yourself at the airport counter of the airline indicated on your voucher 3 hours prior to departure. Air Canada representatives are available to assist you, or you may contact an Air Canada Vacations representative at 1-800-296-3408.

Airport procedures


A Bermuda Triangle Tours Ltd. representative will meet your flight and assist you with ground transportation once you have gone through immigration and customs.

Transfer

Return transfers are included with your holiday package. If you purchased a flight only, transfers are extra.

Hotel check in

Upon arrival at your hotel, please identify yourself at the front desk with your Air Canada Vacations voucher. You will then be assigned your accommodation. Check-in time at most hotels is between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Passengers departure information together with phone numbers to confirm pick-up times are contained in the welcome envelope.

Hotel check out

Hotel check out times may vary depending on the property but generally you must vacate the room by 12:00 (noon). For passengers with late flights, every effort will be made to provide you with a hospitality room, however, this cannot be guaranteed, particularly during high season.

Duty-free Shopping


Duty-free shops are located at the airport or in town. After an absence of 7 days or more, Canadian residents are permitted to return with a maximum of $750 CDN of merchandise per trip without paying duty. Each time you leave Canada for at least 48 hours, you are eligible to declare up to $200 CDN of merchandise. A written declaration may be requested. Each adult is allowed 1.1 litre (40 oz.) of liquor and one (1) carton of cigarettes.If you include cigarettes, tobacco sticks and loose tobacco in your personal exemption allowance, only a partial exemption will apply. You will have to pay a minimum duty on these products unless they are marked Canada - Duty paid. Canadian made products sold at a duty-free shop will be marked in this way.

Local Air Canada Vacations office

Emergency


You can ask for a doctor or a dentist through your hotel. Please contact your representative if you require assistance. Keep all your receipts.

Banking

All Bank of Bermuda branches are open Monday to Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and on Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Currency

The currency in Bermuda is the Bermuda dollar whose value is equal to the US dollar; both are legal tender on the island. Traveler's cheques are honoured everywhere.

Long distance calls

Please note if placing a call from your hotel room, to ask the hotel operator about connection service charges. Using a pay phone will avoid these service charges from the hotel.

Credit cards

International credit cards are accepted at most shops and restaurants although some of the smaller hotels and their dining rooms do not accept them.

Shopping

Stores are open Monday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Shops are open for late night shopping one night a week during summer and some on Sundays. Best buys are on goods imported from Great Britain and Europe such as china, crystal, woolens and linens.

Local transportation


Scheduled bus and ferry service run frequently to Bermuda's most popular destinations. Be sure you have correct fare or alternatively that you have purchased tokens as drivers do not give change. Taxis are metered and can be easily hailed on the streets of Hamilton.

Car rental


Car rental is not available in Bermuda, however, you may rent mopeds and scooters as an alternative mode of transport. Rental facilities can be found at most hotels and liveries throughout the Island. Rates may vary but generally a one day rental will cost from USD$29-36 for a double seater.

Tipping


If there has been no service charge added to your bill, tipping is at the clients discretion (generally 10% to 15%).
